Cream of Anything Soup Mix
It is hard to find ready-made soups without MSG in them without paying a small fortune for them. To eat more healthily and save money, make your own mixes to use when you cook your own meals.
2 c. instant dry milk
3/4 c. cornstarch or 1/2 c. arrowroot powder
2 T. chicken bouillon granules (without MSG!)
2 T. onion flakes
1 1/2 t. basil
1 t. savory
1/2 t. each marjoram and thyme
Mix all and store in covered container.
To use in a casserole recipe calling for cream of whatever soup, add 1 1/4 c. water to wet ingredients and 1/3 c. of this mix to the dry casserole ingredients. Also to make a specific flavor add 1/2 -1c. cooked chopped mushrooms, celery, potatoes, broccoli, asparagus, or chicken depending on what flavor cream soup you want.
