God created you for…what? — 6 Comments

  1. It does sound all about God – but I also note that God wants to share his glory and pleasure with us.

    “God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.” 1 tim.6:17;

    “heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” Rom.8:17

    I also am discovering that the more I become like Christ the more of God’s joy and pleasure I experience.

    Yesterday my 6 yr old granddaughter told me how she was “building a tree in her back yard” from sticks and leaves. she said, “I was playing with God’s nature” I said, “Yes, and you were created in the image of God and that means you were created to be ‘creative.'” To which she replied, “I was using God’s nature to play with God’s nature. I think God is pleased with me.” Me, “Oh, He is very much pleased!” How cute is that?

    • Yes, you are correct. I didn’t want to make a really long post and wanted to stick with my main points which were about the verses I found specifically on why God created us.

  2. This is such a good reminder that we should focus on God and not ourselves. What always amazes me is that when I focus on God – I am the most at peace and filled with the greatest joy. Focusing on me never gives me peace or joy.
